Domain Registration Agreement
Last updated: October 11, 2026
1. Who registers your domain
NodeMonster is a reseller. We do not act as the accredited registrar ourselves: each domain you register, renew or transfer through NodeMonster is registered with one of our registrar partners, which is the "registrar of record" for that domain:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Registrar), for the domain extensions it supports.
- NameSilo, LLC, for other extensions.
The portal shows which registrar handles each domain. Country-code extensions (for example .ae or .in) may be handled by a partner registrar or registry operator under that country's rules.
2. The agreements that apply
When you register, renew or transfer a domain through NodeMonster, you agree to:
- this Domain Registration Agreement and the NodeMonster Terms of Service and Privacy Policy;
- the registration agreement of the registrar of record:
- Cloudflare: Domain Registration Agreement
- NameSilo: Terms and Conditions
- the policies of the registry for your domain extension, and of ICANN for generic extensions (.com, .net, .org, .app and similar), including the dispute and transfer policies listed below.
If these documents conflict on a matter about the registration itself, the registrar's agreement and the registry and ICANN policies prevail.
3. Your rights and responsibilities as registrant
ICANN publishes what every domain holder can expect, and what is expected of them:
In particular, you must:
- give accurate, complete registrant contact details and keep them up to date. Registrars must verify contact details; a domain can be suspended if the details are false or a verification email is not answered;
- renew on time. Domains are not renewed unless auto-renew is on and the renewal is paid, or you renew them yourself;
- not register or use a domain that infringes the rights of others or breaks the law.
4. Privacy of your contact details
We keep registrant contact details private in public WHOIS and RDAP lookups where the registry allows it. Some registries (and some country-code extensions) require the registrant's details to be public, or do not allow privacy. Your details are always shared with the registrar of record and the registry, as required to register the domain, and with authorities where the law requires.
5. Expiry and renewal
We send reminders before a domain expires. After expiry, the domain may stop working and may enter a grace or redemption period during which it can still be renewed, sometimes for an extra fee set by the registry, before it is released for anyone to register. The exact periods depend on the registrar and extension; for generic extensions they follow ICANN's Expired Registration Recovery Policy.
6. Transfers
- To NodeMonster: you need the domain's authorization (EPP) code from your current registrar, and the domain must be unlocked there.
- Away from NodeMonster: request it in the portal (Domains > Transfer away). We unlock the domain and give you the authorization code. You can move your domain to another registrar at any time, except during the periods described below.
- Registries do not allow a transfer to another registrar within 60 days of registration or of a previous transfer, and a change of registrant may also lock transfers for 60 days unless you opt out where allowed.
- Generic-extension transfers follow ICANN's Transfer Policy.
7. Disputes
Disputes about who has the right to a generic domain are resolved under ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP), and for some extensions under the Uniform Rapid Suspension system. By registering a generic domain you agree to take part in these proceedings if a complaint is filed. Country-code extensions have their own dispute policies.
8. Suspension and cancellation
A domain may be suspended, locked, transferred or cancelled when the registry, registrar, ICANN, a dispute panel or a court requires it; when contact details are false or unverified; for abuse, fraud or illegal use; or for non-payment.
9. Fees and refunds
Registration, renewal, transfer and restore fees are shown before you pay. Payments for domains are passed to the registrar and registry and are generally not refundable once the domain is registered, renewed or transferred.
10. Changes
Registrars, registries and ICANN may change their policies; those changes apply to your domain from when they take effect. We will update this page when our own terms change and ask you to accept important changes in the portal.
